A walkthrough graciously shared by Frost Concepts on Deviant Art. I really like this piece because it shows an interesting technique that can help create unique images. You can see it applied in the second step. A very clever way of creating detail.
The effect is created by using a custom brush and applying it to the image with some spacing and variation. In this case the given edges and shapes are turned into a high tech suit of armor. What other outcomes can you think of? Where would you take it after step 2?
